Use Sage HD200 Remote to Control SageTV on HTPC?

My HTPC is so quiet I've moved it to the living room and retired the HD200. For WAF reasons, I would like to use the HD200 remote to control Sage on the HTPC. If I get one of the Sage supported usb IR Receivers, will it work out of the box with the HD200 remote, or will I have to assign keystroke commands, or will it simply not work? Anyone have experience with this?

If you use a USB-UIRT you will just have to assign keystrokes. You could use it with any other receiver using EventGhost/Girder/LM-Remote Keymap wich would require a little extra setup but nothing major. EventGhost is free/open source, LMRK has a free version and a paid version, not sure whether you would need the paid version or not, and Girder is pay to play.

I'm about to order the USB-UIRT but scanning the product literature I see the IR emitters and receivers are both on the face of the box. If I should want to control my cable box at some time in the future this would be a problem as I couldn't point the box simultaneously at the living room couch (where the remote resides) and the front of the cable box. I note there is mention of a jack for an external IR emitter. Can this be purchased? If so where? Anyone having good look using one on a USB-UIRT?
