HD PVR issue in SageTV 7

First off I was not sure if this should go in this forum or hardware.

Figure I will start here.

I only had this problem after updating all things to SageTV 7, latest version of Java, updated Firmware for HD PVR(s) etc

My problem is simple:

The primary (1st) HD-PVR in my system is the one that can use the internal IR blaster for the HD-PVR as the driver only allows the first one to be used and the rest by other methods. After updating it took me a while to notice this as I have 4 HD-PVRs on the system and not all get used so it took a while to notice that the internal IR Blaster is not working via SageTV 7

It worked fine before the update however not so lucky after, the BlastCFG for the HD PVR operates it fine without problem, but from within SageTV 7 this is not the case, I am using the newest IR software as well.

I have never had this issue till recently.

If you have had this problem with this version and resolved it I would like to hear your solution.

What you'll probably find out is that the IR blaster is working on one of those HD-PVRs. I'm not sure how to make a particular one be the blaster. Maybe make the last one installed your primary? (I'm guessing probably the last one installed has the functioning IR blaster.)

So perhaps if I redo the firmware for that unit it might take that unit as the IR blaster? But the odd part is that the BlastCFG is working fine to control the IR but just not SageTV

I missed where blastcfg was working with your desired HD-PVR. Did you make sure to check the box on the Sage 7 install to install the Hauppague IR components or whatever it says? And all the devices show ok in Device Manager?

Actually this time when I installed I said NO to that option because my device was not listed and did not think it mattered.

Should I just install on top of sagetv?

Do an unistall. It will keep all your current settings. And then do an install again.

I figured when installing this time around that none of my hardware was in the list for it so it was not needed. They should update that list, because I figured nothing was wrong as I could still pick my IR Blaster in sagetv

I will backup the sage folder and uninstall it and reinstall it

thanks for the idea

That worked thanks, for some reason the text does not say at all that it is for the Blaster not just the remotes, which made me think I don't need to waste the space etc.

Thanks again
