Corrupted QAM recordings with HVR-2250

I've been using Sage 6.6.2 with the Hauppauge HVR-2250 for a while now to record clear QAM from Comcast, but recently I have been getting a large number of corrupted recordings. I am able to repair the recordings using Video Redo's Quick Stream Fix, but wondering what is causing the problem in the first place. Has anyone else seen this?

The exact symptoms of the corruption vary a little bit. In some cases, as long as I start at the very beginning of the file and don't try to seek (skip forward or click on the progress bar), the video will play OK in Sage, but the timeline will not update correctly. If I do try to seek, I end up with a black screen and no sound (the time-line appears to advance, but nothing is playing).

In other cases, when Sage encounters a corrupt spot, it will lock-up and I must force Sage to quit (CTRL-ALT-DEL). In some of these cases, even CTRL-ALT-DEL doesn't seem to work and I must do a hard reset on my PC. (By the way, this is playing back on the same PC, running Sage in Service mode, using Win7, EVR renderer). During these situations, I have tried playing back through Windows Media Player - it doesn't crash the PC, but it doesn't play back right either: it skips through a bunch of frames and will play back a whole 1-hour show in about 15 seconds.

I've used Video Redo QSF to repair about 5 files now and it has repaired every one. In one case it reported that it had repaired a single video frame error. In the other cases it repaired 5-10 audio frame errors.
