Can't get Helius MediaMVP to connect

I have been using a wired Helius MediaMVP powered by Hauppauge for a fe wyears now. I was only able to get it to work with Sagetv by installing the MVP software and copying the bin file from the sagetv directory and using it as the resource.bin.

A few days ago my sagetv server died and I had to put it on a new machine. To my surprise, the mediamvp was working without the mvp software running on the new machine. I thought I was good until I did a hard reboot and the darn thing will not connect to the sagetv server.

I tried reinstalling the hauppauge mvp software as I had before but I am still unable to connect. This is a win7 box with firewall disabled.

Can anyone offer any suggestions on getting things working again? I feel like I'm running in circles.

Found it. Needed to add a line like this:

miniserver/clients=MVP/00\:0f\:22\:00\:05\:39/192.168.0.6

to sage.properties. I had done this a long time ago but for whatever reason, that setting did not carry over when I reinstalled/upgraded on the new machine.
