In principle you don't need to edit anything, the setting is done through the SageTCPServer plugin configuration...

Well, you will see the MacID, which you can read from the Extender's sticker... Or trial and errors works too. Some people have reported issues renaming from the plugin, so edit the Sage.properties if it fails.

Yup.

man i must be doing something braindead simple wrong, but I have the following in sage

sageTCPServer/extender=001d6a4cf48c.9260,001d6a4cf5ff.9261
sageTCPServer/extendersPort=9260,9261

on my CQC/SageTV server, I set up drivers to point to 127.0.0.1:9260 and 9261, but it sticks at "wait for connect". I know something is happening as it goes from "wait for comm resource" to "wait for connect" once the extender starts up.

any clues?

The first line shouldn't have the ports, as they are on the second line...

ok. I didn't manually add any of that, it was all done via the plugin mgr.

I just manually removed those ports, but still get a "wait for connect" in CQC. I rechecked the sage.properties file, and the stuff didn't get put back in.

I'd recommend pointing to the actual ip address of the Sage server. I realize using 127.0.0.1 should work on a local machine, but I've always had better luck using the actual IP address (like 192.168.1.2).

/facepalm.

it would help if I didn't accidentally use a 3 year old version of this driver. Versioning issues.

works fine now.

Thumbs up

Fonceur, you and all the SageTV developers have mine and the entirety of our humble user community deepest appreciation for all your hardwork and creative engineering for solutions like SageTCPServer! THANK YOU!

I just set up the trial version TaSage for my Samsung EPIC 4G and am blown away by the power this extends to my mobile domain. I think if other SAGE owners took a moment to play with this as I have they would pounce on this app!

One of the functions I am attempting to implement is the custom buttons to instruct my third party infrared application (I use LM Remote KeyMap...similar to Event Ghost) to issue an IR command to a audio matrix switch I have for my WHOLE HOME AUDIO DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM. With TaSage I will finally achieve nirvana by being able to instruct any SageTV client to play to any speaker zone I may select!!!

My noob status in such things leaves me wanting for more details on the command syntax from your SageTCPServer custom buttons solution. Forgive me if I have missed the details, as I have looked here as welll to the WIKI and don't see much other than XTC, CMD, and EXE references. Is there more details you could publish to help me understand how to send an external command to LM Remote KeyMap? BTW, it will respond to a command line prompt if that helps.

Please let me know if I can answer additional questions to help you help me.

THANKS!

George

Version 2.2.7/2.2.8

- Update conflicts based on events.
- Modified the keep alive.

I have moved the minimum requirement to SageTV 7.1.9, as there isn't much reason not to install it by now...

If you were running multiple simultaneous connections (like say iPhone + iPad, or iPhone + CQC driver), it was possible for some keep alive messages to be inserted mid-stream, which now should be fixed...

Well, the release note for version 2.2.4 shows 2 examples, I'm not sure what else I can add... Basically you are looking at:

MyCommand,c:\folder\LM_Remote.exe keyMap

or such...

It's amazing how fast ones skills atrophy when they are ignored for so long

I see the examples...thanks. Is it fair to conclude that ANY SagetTV command can be issued from the custom buttons using the CMD parameter and that any external call can be made using the EXE? Thanks again.

It should... And you can even create macros by chaining commands split by \n...

'Not compatible'

Sorry to ask a dumb question. I am trying to install SageTCPServer. I am using v7 of SageTV. I go to the plugins page and find the install entry. It however tells me that the plugin is 'not compatible' and will not allow me to install it. Why is this ?

Thank you

Matthew

That's because you are not using the latest version of SageTV, which is 7.1.9:

Pandigital Novel and SageTCPServer

I think this could be great for streaming from my Sage server. I installed VLC 1.0.5 and TaSage but can't connect using HTTP. I checked the Sage log and the big error is VLC isn't getting the VLCTranscodeOptions. Any ideas.

If you can attach the log or paste the relevant part, I can take a look.

Pandigital Novel and SageTCPServer

I decided to start over and uninstalled all the relevant plugins and VLC. I rebooted and reinstalled VLC 1.0.0 and the SageTV plugins. The Novel can attach to the server and download the playlists, etc., but I can't stream.
I notice two errors: The TCPServer plugin won't let me edit the extender or client fields. I then went to the sage.properties file and edited to add the MAC address of my Novel and set the VLC path to my D: drive.
I restart SageTV and the Novel connects and tries to stream and I get a can't play error. I checked the sage log, and the VLC path is still the C: drive.

I uninstalled and re-installed VLC on the C: drive and it streams! But I don't have any audio. I also don't have an "antenna" for the right widget, but an "x". What was that for?

It has been known to have issues, or maybe you didn't use the right syntax...

Your android tablet isn't a real SageTV client or extender, so it shouldn't be in there and might be why it was getting refused by the plugin config...

Did you make sure the SageTV service was shutdown? Otherwise the modifications just get ignored...

That means you aren't connected to any SageTV client or extender... So tap it and select one...
