If you have the SageTV debugging enabled, try to post your sagetv_0.txt log file...

i have the same issue actually.

log attached.. you will notice that sage fires up, and then a few mins in it just gets a shutdown hook and closes down. only happens when i install the plugin... when i revert, the issue goes away.

Could you enable the debugging in SageTCPServer, because I'm not seeing a single line out of SageTCPServer...

1.6G Max heap size with normal usage around 500M... that would mean TCP server is using 1.1G, which seems excessive

Why does it look like TCP server keeps allocating ports for extenders and reporting "invalid IPs"?

thx

Well, if you have 1 server and 10 clients/extenders, that's only 100M each...

I noticed that, looks like some kind of firewall issue or something. The one at 192.168.1.108 seemed the worse, like something else had an exclusive session with it.

No firewalls between the server and extenders/placeshifter... Does something have to actively connect to the TCPserver for it to react like that, or is the TCPServer cycling these connections on it's own?

thx

Hmm, I see the ports 9260 to 9279 being used, that's 20 players... Which explains the connection issues if it's trying to make 5 connections to each...

Each time a new client/extender connects, it needs its own player. It also remembers previous ones. So somehow it's not recognizing previous ones, thus adding some more... I'll need to look at the port mapping, to figure that out.

It's probably the placeshifter that I'm not handling properly. Could you try having the placeshifter offline and restarting SageTV (and it's service) to see if it works fine without it?

gave it a shot, same behavior. the odd thing is that i see it firing up players for all kinds of IPs on my network that have no association with sage at all (a wii, an iphone, an appletv, etc), plus the odd log messages stating a player was started with ip=null. does TCPserver get it's triggers to start players from sage?

thx

Yes, there are some sageEvents, one being the client connection (ClientConnected). So it's really odd that Sage itself is recognizing them as its children...

Version 2.3.3

- Increased the send buffer size from the default 8k to 64k.

This has been a known issue for a long time, where lines too long were not sent properly. I've tried to send shorter lines before, but some still were not fitting within that 8k send buffer.

Obviously if the receiver (i.e. T*SageTV) isn't updated that probably doesn't help much, but I'm also working on that...

EDIT: I don't think it's actually helping, I'm still seeing truncated lines...

Version 2.3.4 (test version)

- The Duration was missing for some (all?) programs.
- The upper/lower cases were overwritten.

This is a temporary build, I don't want to distribute it through the SageTV plugin system just yet, as the second point might not be compatible with some of my apps... So you should stop SageTV and its service, then replace the file in SageTV\SageTV\JARs by this one:

https://dl.dropbox.com/u/408295/SageTCPServer.jar

Version 2.3.4

- Program duration was not getting sent.
- Can turn off the Ping.

The constant VDS/PLM spam was mostly for TaSageTV, so I've finally decided to add a message (TOP) to get rid of it on iOS...

So. I tired a install of sagetv on another pc and installed this it seems it works on that one both ate 64 window 7 which seems wired I activated the log and tried multiple times to get it to work on my main machine is still now working.

I enabled th loging in the plugin right after installing but I don't know where it is I do not log much will you give me a basic idea so I can post my logs. Right now I only use one extender so I don't think it is the same problem as the other user

Set Debug to true in the plugin interface and in the Detailed settings/Advanced of SageTV.

The log files are named "sagetv_0.txt" and are located in the SageTV\SageTV folder.
