Icons on sage7 main menu/start

where is a list of what the icons that show up at the top right of the screen mean? I looked through the PDF instructions and did not see anything about these icons?
I have managed to figure out:
  • the little triangles = go look at logs
  • the little red TV = schedule conflict
but what is a green box with a blue rectangle inside suppose to mean?
is this a standard Sage Icon or something a plugin added?

Sounds like you have Diamond UI Mod and Theme installed.

They are not the standard icons, they are Diamond versions.

Look here in the menu for listing of explanations.

There is also a TV indicator and markers option right below it.

The green/blue/green box icon is the comskip icon for Diamond.

I got bored and made them all different, I like to mess with peoples minds

Cheers,

Jeremy

I did not see the green box with the blue rectangle in the help thing?
but anyway, seems like it is nothing to worry about at least

and yep, using Diamond... but like really, is there anyone not using diamond?

The Comskip plugin adds the icon to the STV and the Diamond version just overrides it in the theme so it won't show in the default icon help areas.

Jeremy

Probably ought to have the items that use icons add them to the help screen as part of the UI Mod.

Well not really because you only see that icon if commercial skip mod is installed. They make the icon we just modify it in our theme

I was meaning it should be a part of the commercialdetector ui mod. It was more a general statement, that if you are going to be adding an icon to the bar, it should also have a page added to the help screen (like, say, your MyMovies icon.. :-) )

I would just like to request that it be something a bit more intuitive than a green box with a blue rectangle...

I just don't see how anyone would look at a green box with a blue rectangle in it and say: oh, that most mean comskip...
especially since all the other icons look all professional and stuff...

Here's your chance to contribute, you offer something more "intuitive" and I'll see if I can work it in

I must have done about a dozen mockups for that single icon before settling on green/green/green (no comskip) and green/blue/green (comskip) to represent the progress bar in the OSD when it is showing the comskip marks or not.

Please don't suggest "CS"

Cheers,

Jeremy

FYI - You are the first to complain about it since last September so it can't be that bad.

well...
a CS would be nice

well, I am graphically impaired, and even worse at UI's... so I doubt I would be of any help

I think, if anything, it just needs to be more 'timeline' like. It certainly didn't jump out as representing the timeline to me at first.

The hardest part is figuring out how to fit anything in a tiny square to represent something... and timelines are not small and square so I had to divide up the space the best I could so you would even notice the blue section (that was dark green orginally but even harded to distinguish from the light green on the left and right)

Oh well, I'm always messing around in photoshop maybe I'll come up with something better one day

I had thought of something like the following but modified to look less like the skip ahead icon.

I guess it depends on where you are displaying them. I did just notice how small the icons are in the normal recordings screen (never use it). And on Malore, I've actually stretched the marker panel to double the stock size (0.08). It's still tall enough to fit pretty much every possible marker, the only time something would get shrunk would be if i had a Watched, Archived, Comskipped, Don't Like'd, First Run... which isn't likely to say the least.

Good compromise! I don't like the X necessarily... but at the same time, I don't bother drawing an Icon for somethign that ISN'T there.. It's nost like there are Watched and Not-Watched markers, so there shouldn't be CS and NonCS markers... as such, I leave the setting at the default CS Only.

I do the same, only marked show, don't bother with the no comskip markers as they seem kind of redundant.

I'll keep playing and see what comes out with the next Diamond release.

I guess a simple CS in a circle or some such is out of the question then?
