Audio Recording Issues
Hey all,
I am having trouble with inconsistent audio recording (or maybe playback??). Sometimes it will have audio in the recording, mostly will not. I have fine audio while watching live tv. I have a Fortissimo 7.1 soundcard, and am using the default audio renderer and intervideo noncss audio decoder filter. I have tried using all the different filters at my disposal during playback with no luck. Anybody have any suggestions??

Ok...so I have it narrowed to the fact that it will do audio if it was a manually recorded episode (tonights Smallville), but it won't if the recording is favorites based (Chapelle Show and According to Jim). WTH?????

If I understood you correctly if you watch live timeshift audio is fine, if you do a manual record audio is fine (BTW, do you mean manual timed based recording or manually selecting record from prog listings?), but favorite records don't have audio. Sounds like a strange config glitch. If it were me I'd deinstall, delete Sage dir, reboot and reinstall and see if it helps.
What version SageTV and if applicable Client are you running? I'm also new to Sage and only have experience with the new v2 release... Also, what tuner card are you using and how do you input to tuner card?

are using the same input when watching the TV live and the recordings?
I have two inputs on my card, that is why I ask cable for locals(free with DirecTV) and DirecTV via svideo or RCA whichever I choose that day, LOL and if you are recording from a cable/DSS box you have to use the audio miniplug input on the pvr 250/350s unless you have a blackbird/ MCE card I would try updating your drivers for your sound card play the video files back in another player to see if you still get no sound you may also try uninstalling sage like mdmint said
