","s being replaced by "/"

I'm new to SageTV, I'm currently running ubuntu 10.10 32 bit with sage 7. The Problem I'm having is my Commas in meta data under genre are being replaced by forward slashes"/" which means when I use Sage to look up movies they aren't showing up. I have BMT and Diamond installed, I'm not sure if I'm missing a setting or what the issue is. Any help would be appreciated Thanks
Aaron

Does the / show up immediately after you save? I just tried this this and the only issue that I see if that I'm appear to dropping the 3rd genre, but I'm not adding any / to it. Bmt simply sets/gets the values into the sagetv api and it doesn't do any other processing.

After I save the commas stay there, but if I go back to the main menu of BMT then go back to same file that is what happens in the picture.

well, that is bizarre. I can't think of what would causing that. BMT does't add slashed to the data, and when you save, the bmt refreshes it's data from sagetv to the values you see immediately after the save is the values that sagetv returned. I ran a number of tests on my files and I haven't been able to reproduce this

I'm think I am also seeing this in BMT but on Windows.

For example I go and look at a rip of Bee Movie and see category is set to "Animation/Comedy", if I update the metadata I get the correct "Animation,Comedy" but after saving, exiting and coming back to the properties the categories are back to "Animation/Comedy".

Tomorrow night I'll take another look at what bmt is doing when it saves the genres. I think it does some "cleaning" but I've never seen this particular issue myself. I'll review the code and re-run the unit tests to make sure nothing has changed.

Thanks Stuckless. Let me know if I can give you anything else to help.

I posted some screen captures of me opening Bee Movie, updating metadata, saving, exiting and viewing again.

I'm not sure if this helps but here goes.
I totally wiped sage off my server since this is a new install I'm not to worried about having to re-set it up. I delete every sage specific config file left over after Package Manager supposedly deleted everything( not even close)
I did a fresh install of Sage 7.0.23 installed BMT, everything is running peachy. No commas getting replaced ect. I installed the beta 7.1.2 and start up BMT again and there the / are I hadn't even done anything else. Soooooo I'm blaming beta :/ Not sure if its a beta bug or BMT bug with beta but thats what I found.
Aaron

More followup downgraded back to non-beta and the shows still have / in them however a simple refresh of metadata fixes them and I'm back where I'm started. So if I can provide any further information or want me to report this somewhere I will.
Thanks

I know the release notes included the following that says these changes are coming soon but not in 7.1 but I wonder if something in 7.1.2 was already changed that may be affecting the handling of multiple categories?

Quote:
Coming soon (but in V7.1)

-Channel logos provided by SageTV
-EPG data enhancements (season/epsiode numbers, improved detection of 'unique' airings, more than 2 levels of categories, additional flags for various Airing properties such as Live, Dolby5.1, Letterbox, etc.)
-Images related to many of the movies in the EPG

It looks like I'm having a similar problem, now I have dozens of new Genre's, for instance, I now have 13 Action/xxxxx's (one for each type under that, comedy, horror, sci-fi, etc). I don't recall it being like that before.

*EDIT* Looks like it's the SAME problem. Just went in and tried to fix a couple with Action/Adventure, seperated them with a , and it goes right back to the / after saving and reloading.

Stuckless,

Please foregive me if this has been covered/answered elsewhere, but was this corrected in the 7.1.5 beta or will it be fixed in a later beta release? (7.1.6 etc)

I'm still seeing the replacement of "," with "/" in 7.1.5 when using BMT, and from the comments above it looks like the core may be overwriting/changing them still.

Thanks,

Jeremy

I think this was a change that happened in 7.1 and BMT will have to adjust itself to use the / instead of ,. I haven't fixed it yet

np. I'm hoping to get a new build out this weekend. I'll hope to have a fix for this, and few out things as well.
