Phoenix build 309 Available

There's a new Phoenix in town... check the install/upgrade guide for information on how to upgrade.

Since I forgot to actually add this to the release notes section of the plugin... here's the release notes...

Release 309.

1) Fixed bug in Landing Zone that caused the main list not to scroll far enough
when wrapping.
2) Feature Enhancement - Box Landing zone status don't require select to change
the contents of the Status pane - changes on Focus now.
3) Added Exit and Standby buttons to Landing Zone, only visible on PC clients.
4) Implemented delete handling in Single and Double List UMB.
5) Added an option to Enable / Disable 'Select to Browse' - when enabled select
navigates into a folder instead of showing the Detailed Info screen for that
folder. Applicable only to Single List UMB currently. When Select To Browse is
enabled, a double select on a folder opens the Detailed Info screen.
6) Added double select handling in Double List UMB - when double clicking on a
folder (left side list) the Detailed Info screen for that folder is shown.
Single click still moves focus to the first item in the folder.
7) Created framework for native (Java or XML based) processes to put up a
confirmation dialog. Example used in the way "Exit" is handled in the Landing
Zone.
8) Enabled fanart cycling in Detailed Info screen for Folders (previously this
only happened for non-Folders.
9) Performance improvement in UMB to hold off on fanart updates until user has
stopped navigating.
10) Launch Favorites Manager and Scheduled Recordings directly from the Landing
Zone via ExecuteWidgetChain...() instead of using the sage command / listener
combination.
11) Created framework for native (Java or XML based) processes to put up a
progress dialog.
12) Fixed centered text on the landing zone
13) Added support for Mute events in Video OSD.

--
1. UMB - made right arrow graphic for folders clickable. Clicking executes the
'Right' command to drill down into the folder.
2. Added new vertical scrolling text entry to the Find menu (press skip fwd in
UMB and select Find). If we like it I will apply it to other text entry areas as
well.

I just installed it and everything went haywire for me.

i got about 300 red ! that all said there was an issue with missing VFS, and i couldn't even navigate around or anything.

i tried uninstalled, then reinstalling everything and that made it worse.

I am trying to update to .15 beta right now to see if that helps.

The exact error is

"Error in VFS File: ..\x-vfs.xml. Failed to find class instance for factory sagex.phoenix.vfs.filters.HomeVideosFilter

same error on vfs.xml

and a bunch of Status - Null System Message over 150 to be more exact

I think i just figured out the issue. It looks like the new build of phoenix and diamond CANNOT co-exist. I uninstalled diamond, and immedietly everything starting working for me....

I didn't think that I added any code to Phoenix that would make it fail if Diamond was installled, yet

It sounds like the phoenix-api didn't get extracted correctly, but by removing diamond (which probably required a restart) it somehow did. You should be able to install Diamond again... I suspect this was a "glitch" in the plugin system.

I have seen the rare time when a plugin did not get extracted correctly

You have to download the XML file again like you did the first time around.

I am following the instructions and downloaded the xml file and stuck it in the Sage directory. Looking at the xml file it mentions 308 everywhere. Isn't it suppose to be 309?

Try opening up the new SageTVPluginsDev.xml file you downloaded in a text editor and see if it has the correct version number in the body of the text. ( i.e. <Version>2.3.309</Version> ) If not, you may have to clear your browser's cache and try again.

Drop the file in your SageTV folder on your server and it should show up.

Aloha,
Mike

Maybe I'll look at creating an "UpdatePhoenixBeta" api that downloads the .xml file... that way, i'll get rid of the browser cache issue. And we simply burry it in the admin menus for now.

I had that DOH moment this AM on way to work.. Can never get time between evening recordings/watchings for family to throw updates on so had 15min this AM to do so.

Gave up after I couldn't get the new build to show in Plugins, and wondered why I couldn't find the .xml file - ON MY CLIENT LOL...

Unfortunately, people won't be able to take advantage of it until 311... since it will be in 310 (which they will have update manually)
