is it possible to have commercial detector use VPrj files?

I know the commercial detector plugin can be setup to allow comskip to create VPrj files. I can then edit these in Video Redo to make them precise, but is there a way to export or convert these VPrj files into edl format so that the commercial detector plugin can use them? Amazingly I can't find anything on the web about converting VPrj to edl, or using the VPrj files directly in a comskip kind of situation.

You should be able to do a Save as Chapter file. That's just a text file and rename it edl I think.

The chapter file seems to be just a list of points in the middle of the cuts (assuming chapters is set to cut points) and they're in time rather than position format. The EDL file is in position format, while the VPrj cut list is in time format. (Other wise I think it would be pretty easy to just edit the VPrj file a little to produce an EDL cut list.

Sorry. For some reason VideoRedo TV Suite wouldn't save me anything when I chose Save as Chapter. So It looked like that might do it.

You can edit the comskip.ini to output edl files. I am under the impression that the plugin will use VPrj files but I may be wrong.

Right-but after adjusting the commercials in VideoRedo the original edl is not valid. He's looking for a way to save those changes made in VideoRedo back out as an edl file. He's already generating an edl file. The vprj file already uses the edl info generated by either comskip or showanalyzer.

Why not just save the file without any commercials from Videoredo. Then delete the edl file. It only takes a few minutes to write out the new files.

Probably a bit safer than replacing the whole file. The other thing that I noticed is that the Vprj file created by Comskip is a version 2, which would be fairly easy to edit in order to produce an edl version. But even though I can use this as a "first cut" in VideoRedo TVSuite 4 the corrected Vprj files are version 3 which are much more of a headache to edit. I could probably create a Visual Basic routine to do it, but I guess my commitment level isn't high enough. :-)
