Any interest in kid show Diamond themes?

I was toying with making a few kid themes for Diamond for my own kids and so far have done a Star Wars Clone Wars, Tinker Bell, and Dora/Diego. I don't want to waste my time on something that no one will use so if anyone is interested in them let me know an I'll see what I can work out. Probably will be a theme pack that I'll post as a separate plugin in the repository. All the images are from existing fanart on the web or screen captures. These aren't really a lot of work mostly just replacing the images for the backgrounds and creating a new folder.

I already have a request for Barbie theme from my daughter, and requests for Ben 10 theme and a Batman theme from my son

These are mostly going to be multi background sub themes for Diamond Simplified with not a lot of changes to the Diamond theme itself and will look like,

Throw out some show names and I'll see if I can fit them in. Can't promise I'll do them, all depends on time

My son isn't old enough right now, either, but I am sure that a Toy Story theme would amaze him. Since he has seen all 3 movies, culling images from all 3 would probably be easier than trying to stick to just one of them. But, again, only if you have spare time. He does not watch that much TV at the moment.

Of course, a Pixar theme would also go over well. I don't know if staying to an individual movie per theme would look better, or if a selection of different movies would look good too?

I think it's a good idea to create these theme packs if only to show people what can be done very easily, but I wouldn't go out of your way to create them. I knocked up a quick theme for the last version of Diamond on my system, all I did was add some custom backgrounds, so I would say encouraging people to create their own is a good idea.

One quick question: does Diamond support multiple backgrounds per main menu item i.e for TV, I could have say 5 backgrounds and Diamond would randomly pick one of those when TV was the highlighted menu item?

Currently the theme backgrounds are controlled by the theme.properties file in each theme folder. We have the base Diamond Simplified set to use one background for all menu items. This can be easily changed back to allow separate image per menu item.

Currently there is no way to have the backgrounds go randomly through a listing of preset images for a single menu item. We have talked about something like this but not sure where it will go.

Ok, thanks for responding, the main reason I asked is because it's something I liked when using MediaPortal as I found it gave the UI a fresh appearance every time you used it.

Transformers? Any series would rock, but Transformers: Prime would be the obvious choice ATM (since it is currently airing on HUB)

Fish Sticks, Garfield, or Phineas and Ferb My 5 and 7 yr olds love them. If not, we will be checking out the star wars theme since they love it....

This is a great idea. I love the creativity coming out of the community. My kids would like a kids theme in the extender in our playroom.

or maybe just a generic PIXAR/Disney

Photos - Mermaid
Music - Cars
Setup - Toy Story
