Burn avi to DVD

I have a couple of .avi movies that I can watch in STV but can anyone tell me how to go about burning an .avi to DVD ?

I have a couple of DVD apps such as DVDShrink, DVDFab Platinum, PowerDirector but none seem to work for this.

Any advice is much appreciated, thanks,

Steve

You need to convert the files to MPEG2 and then use DVD authoring software. I haven't done this in many years but you might even be able to use Sage to convert the files to Convert the avi files to DVD or DVD long play and then run that through DVD authoring software such as one of these :http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...g_applications

The DVD maker built into Windows 7 (and Vista?) would probably do this.

Thanks for all the advice. wayner, I had tried to convert them in STV but it didn't work for some reason. texneus, I have XP on all my PC's but may try 7 soon.

wrems, DVD Flick is great, I don't recall hearing about it but it's very simple to use and worked great. I read that I would also need ImgBurn but I converted in DVD Flick then used my DVDFab Platinum to burn to DVD. Simple and relatively fast. Also, I had 18 episodes of a show and was able to easily put all of them with titles for each on the DVD menu that allows to select any one of them, great.

Thanks again, I appreciate the help !

No problem. I like DVD Flick too. In case you're interested in other tools I'd check out this thread:
