HD300 Powers but no display on tv

Hello,

I have owned the HD300 for about a year now and it was working ok. Yesterday I turned it on and was unable to get a display. I do use hdmi through my receiver and thought maybe it was that. I bypassed that and went straight to the tv, no luck. I tried another hdmi cable, it was new in package, no luck. I don't know what to do and my wife is on me now as she wants to watch shows we have and I tell her we cant. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks
Bone

Ohhh,

This is where you would haul out your ancient HD100, or Hauppauge MVP that you keep around for backup/spare/testing, and plug it in. Yeah, it might only be SD, but that's better than black screen.....

I was being slightly facetious with my response. If you can tho, the MVP is a fairly cheap backup that can be bought and kept around for just such occasions.

If money isn't an object, a quick fix could be to get a netbook that has HDMI out and you could run linux and placeshifter on it, or windows and sageclient. Or if you have a laptop, you could do something similar. Would also need to get a Windows USB remote to control it. Another option might be to see if you could locate a TV out video card for your main system, and then move your main system up next to your tv for the duration until you can figure out what's wrong with the HD300, or order a replacement.

Have you tried hitting the Video Out button on the remote a few times?

And if all else fails, you could always read the read the manual.

I would also try hooking up the composite or component out directly to the TV... I forget what one, but one of those is always active...

Got my Sage back! Turns out it was the hdmi cable. I didn't wait long enough when I tried it before. When I tried the video out button and it didn't work I put the new cable in and it came on. I didn't think it would be that, thought hdmi cables were all alike but guess not. Good to know though. Thanks for the replies. Glad I got it working now I got my Cali Lewis back,geekbeat.tv.
