SageTV Transcoder and Sandy Bridge

My understanding is that the new Sandy Bridge CPUs from Intel have a feature called Quick Sync that speeds up video transcoding. Does the SageTV Transcoder take advantage of this? If not then will it in the future?

Currently my Sage server is an i5-661 CPU but I bought a new Sandy Bridge PC that is a i5-2500K. It isn't really being used for Sage, other than PS, should I use something like Handbrake on the i5-2500K to do my video transcoding?

From what I know, SageTV uses FFMpeg to transcode, and base on what I googled, FFmpeg does not support Quick Sync, nor do any other softwares currently.

It looks like Andy was playing around with adding Quick Sync support to DTB

And if you believe what you read on this interwebby-thingy Quick Sync is supported by CyberLink MediaEspresso 6.5 and Arcsoft MediaConverter 7.
