cannot import some videos

Hello,

I have an import directory with 386 files. Some of these files are not showing up.

When I view the directory through Sage (Video->Folders) it shows only 303 (of 386) videos.

I tried "Scan Imported Media" but the files do not appear.

Some new files I add to this import directory are showing up... so I know the scan is doing something and partially working. However, old/missed files still do not appear.

In the import directories I have multiple file types. I have .mkv, .avi and .mp4 extensioned videos. This may or may not be related as in one directory only the .mp4 files do not appear. Also, common naming with different extensions may be a problem... but in other directories both appear... so it is not consistent.

Other info: the timestamps do not reflect the time at which the files were moved into the directory. the filesystem is ext4 for this import dir.

Anyhow: It seems very clear too me that this is a SageTV bug and not something I can fix by configuration. I hope I am wrong and someone provides a solution here. Please reply even if you have no solution, but this is happening to you... because sage support is implying there is nothing wrong and I should "scan imported media" again.. ha.

I'd enable debug logging, and watch the scan as sagetv starts up (or as you rescan). I've sometimes seen things not show up due to permissions problems, and that's reflected in the sagetv_0.tx log.

+1 to what drewg said. I've debugged similar issues (turned out it was permissions) by watching the initial scan debug logging.
