TV shows saved off box showing up in TV recordings area

I know this is a "Feature". If I copy some of the files from my recording drive to my NAS server, the episodes will show up onder the the recorded TV area. How do I prevent this...
Here is the setup
D:\RecordedTV is a local drive on my Sage server with 1tb space (used to be a lot)

\\mediaserver\data\movies is a NAS server on my network. THe Movies directory and all sub directories is defined as a video import directory.

Frequently the D:\RecordedTV will get filled up so I copy shows I want to save off to \\mediaserver\data\movies\SavedTVShows. Then delete them from the Sagetv GUI (which gets rid of them on the recorded drive). I have tons of room on my NAS.

What I just noticed is that with Diamond the shows I copy to my NAS now show up next to shows I have on my D drive... making it hard to clean up my D drive and making it likely I will delete things on my NAS.

I want this behavoir to stop under the default "recordings" menu (though I will probably make a new view that shows this type of stuff). How do I do it?

you can use BMT to change them to not be recordings anymore...

Also make sure you are not filtering in imported tv.

IF it was originally recorded by sage, then it will continue to show up as a recording no matter where you move the file. If you go into BMT http://servername or ipaddress :8080/bmt

then search for the program and you will see where to change it to NOT be a recording.

you can also check out the BMT thread for more info.

Not if you configure SageTV to treat recordings found in import dirs as imports rather than recordings. See p. 94 of the v7 PDF manual. Changing the setting affects files found by import scans afterwards; not files already imported. Just move or rename those already imported.

Thanks Opus

I followed the directions you posted from the manual. This did exactly what I wanted it to do... I disabled the ability to delete form the GUI (any file management I want to do I will use explorer), and I told it to treate recordings as imported videos.. that worked great.

Thanks again.
