DVD playback crashes SageTV
I'm haveing a problem playing back store bought DVDs. They either crash SageTV after a few minutes, or after 45is minutes.
I'm running Win 7 Pro SP1 64 bit, SageTV 7.1.5, and have AnyDVD running also. The system is a AMD Athlon II X4 640, 4GB Ram, with an ATI 5670 video card. Any thoughts or ideas, or more info needed? Thanks! Mike |

Are the DVD's ripped on to the computer first or are you plopping them in the DVD drive on the computer and playing through Sage?

crazy. Your system specs are plenty good. does it crash doing anything else? I had some bad ram in one of our workstations. Crashing started when I was editing videos...but then matriculated to doing everything.
You could try taking out one stick of ram and see if that clears stuff up. If not, then switch to the other (of course, that will only work if you use two sticks). what about if you play them in windows media player or other DVD playing program? Lastly, try ripping one of your DVD's to your hard drive then play them. I'm having a similar issue, but with only select DVD's (low budget kids movies of all things...not even superbit or high quality movies).

Yeah...
The only way I can play a dvd in Sage is to open either WMP or vlc and look at it in there for a few seconds...then go back to Sage and play it. Otherwise, it can't seem to find the codec/decoder/whatever to play it and it just doesn't.
Been using Sage for quite a few years and tried all the settings and inserting a DVD and playing it is usually a 5 minute process, whether it's from disk or the HDD. This really needs to be fixed! |

Nope, just never works on client or server without some fussing around. Shut down SageTV, play to the menu in vlc, close vlc...then it works...until I reboot the machine or change disks...
