General Discussion

With the lack of a general thread here’s a general post.

Thanks for the public beta, this gives me a renewed reason to mess with SageTV.

With all that’s going on with Sage I had to think how appropriate your project's Name is, I never would have guessed it would be so appropriate.
Wikipedia describes - The Phoenix's ability to be reborn from its own ashes implies that it is immortal.

My thanks to you-all and the devs that has that have done so much for Sage in the past.

I agree the release is very appropriate, both in timeliness and name. The beauty and speed even on my extender are something to behold. I feel like sage has finally caught up to xbmc in quality, and easily surpassed in speed.

I do have a question: how do I enable the cover flow and movie flow modes for UMB?

Right now, you need to manually change the menu item appropriately. Your best bet is to copy the landingmenu.xml file from Phoenix's installation area, and place it in the userdata area in a folder called menus. That way when you make changes to it they won't be overwritten by future Phoenix releases. Additionally, if you break something or want it to go back to the defaults you just need to delete the landingmenu.xml in your userdata area and everything will look just like brand new.

Thanks, that worked well.

There are also some default menus under Video that are hidden by default for both Cover Flow and Movie Flow - you can just unhide those from the UI in Options.Options->Landing Zone->Customize Landing Zone.

btl.

Phoenix progress bar overlaying subtitles.

Thanks for this theme, this is something I never thought sage would come to.
I find myself just enjoying this theme the flow and the use of the buttons on my remote control, just simply great stuff.
I do have a comment and wondering if there's something I can do to overcome this, I see a lot of foreign movies and thus rely a lot on subtitles, my issue is that whenever the progress bar (seek bar) is displayed it shows smack in the middle of my subtitles, is there something I can do to have the progressbar either move more to the bottom of the screen or above the subtitle area ?

many thanks.

Don't sell it short . Phoenix is a complete ui replacement not a theme ;-)

I'll see what I can come up with for a future release. I watch subtitled anime all the time, so I know what you mean. I'll see if I can come up with a subtitle friendly progress bar as an option.

Aloha,
Mike
