Java Heap just keeps filling up

I just got my hands on a secondhand hd100 and after getting everything up and running I have seen java heap problems all over the place. I increased my java heap to 649 and it is currently reporting 641/649/649.

I am also running an MVP a Client and the Server Frontend but have not seen the java heap go up until I installed the HD100.

Has anyone else seen an issue like this or could it possibly have something to do with any of my plugins?

Running Win7 32bit(for FWchannelProxy)
4 Gigs of ram (2.85 available)
Amd Phenom x2 quadcore
On-Board Nvidia Graphix

I have a HD100, 2 x HD200 and a HD300. I run my heap at 832 MB. I have no issues running them all at the same time. I would bump up the heap. Or start disabling plugins if you run a bunch. But if you only have the MVP and the HD100 out there you shouldn't have those issues. If you're running the frontend on the server this will affect the heap. I would look at what plugins you're running and how much heap is being used with just the frontend. I don't run the frontend on the server.

until I get my usbuirt in I have to run 32 bit so I only have 4g of ram available right now with 512 shared to onboard memory. I'm trying to get a secondhand radeon 5770 on ebay but the prices are still too high for my tastes. If anyone could recommend a really good video card for hd I could bump up my heap size some more but its already starting to eat into my available memory.

yeah but your probably running headless or your not sharing 1/4 of your available ram to gpu.
I've also noticed today that i cannot playback my dvdrips on the hd100 they show up in the menu but when i hit play i just get a flash and i'm back to the menu

Double check your firmware level on the HD100. I am running headless. But I am sharing system ram-but only 128MB.

Also go through and judiciously turn off all your plugins. See if that fixes the problem. If it does add them back one by one until you find the culprit or combination that is causing the issue. Best of luck!!

Firmware is 201002120 I disabled Diamond and saw some improvement but the java heap is still pretty high but at least it's functional. I imagine once I find a decent vid card on eBay it'll be time to setup the usbuirt and go back to 64 bit. I'm sure I can fix the issue with a new install. Oh and I was fortunate enough to acquire another hd-100 so I'll be able to see if the problem gets worse with another extender in the mix. I like diamond a but better than Phoenix at this point, but right now sagemc is the only thing I can run without lag at this point. Im also having another weird issue where I am unable to play my DVD rips on the extender with tge sage7 stv. It may or may not be related though.

I felt the Diamond theme had too much overhead for the HD100 I have. I continue to run the default which works fine. I didn't try Phoenix but I heard it runs a little better than Diamond on a HD100.

I'm running sagemc on every extender now my heap stays around 450/649/649. which is mildly acceptable. I liked phoenix but there are too many problems with it when used on an extender(where it overlays a timebar over the video i'm watching then freezes the gui until the video is over) for me to rely on that. Plus o be honest I still have not seen anything hat comes close to the funcionaliy of sagemc. I may try to create some more HD graphics to use in SageMC and then upload them to the plugin server. But for now foofaraw is working (its also what my wife is trained on so..). I sill believe the java heap is an issue but for now its running half-ass stable for me.
