Youtube:Unable to determine file to download

I am having a problem with YouTube. I am getting the "Unable to determine file to download" error message. This happens with every YouTube video I've tested. None of the YouTube videos play properly.

Netflix, Hulu, Online services:HD Videos. Online services:Channels.com Web shows, and others stream OK. Only YouTube does not work. Is there a solution for that? I recovered my system back to June 21, 2011, but it is still not working. I could try to recover farther in the past, but maybe there is a simple solution for YouTube.

I am using Windows 7 - 64-bit, SageTV version 7.1.5.252, SageTV STV version 7.1.31.1 March 8, 2011, and Java 1.6.0_10.

I think the last STV update was August, 2011. Have you tried updating?

I did find the 2011081001 SageTV3 STV, but it has the old blue menu on each of the items (TV, Videos, Music, Photos, Search, Online, Setup, Exit). This STV does not have Playon and the Plugins. The YouTube videos do play with the STV. However, I no longer have the nicer GUI where each option has it's own background picture plus the Playon and Plugins menu items.

Maybe I am downloading the wrong STV?

You need to update the v7 STV from the Detailed Setup -> Advanced -> Check for updates. It should also be notifying you of the update's availability via a system message.

It would probably be wise to also update your sagetv install to the latest (final) version, 7.1.19.

Don't forget to do a backup before you upgrade...

YouTube now works with the nice menus.

I updated to version 7.1.9 and the STV from version 2011061301 to version 2011081001. I updated all the plug-ins. I re-installed all the STVi's. The Netflix and Youtube streaming is working great now. The only thing that does not seem to work is the Playon/Music/Pandora, I still have "No videos found" with Pandora. There is a newer Java version available. I did not update Java.

I backed up the SageTV directory and took an Acronis image before and after the upgrade. That makes two images today. I might also take an image with Clonezilla too. I'm copying the directory back and image to other drives and computers. I will also send it to on-line storage to get it offsite. I will test a recovery later to a 'Test' hard drive to make sure I can recover.

Thanks for the help!

Dave
