EPG data

I want to setup 1 channel with my own specific EPG data -- 6-11 monday to friday and that is it. And ideas how I can achieve this without having to go through the whole xmltv process?

Really your only option is to write your own EPG plugin implementation and fill in your custom data that way. The xmltv plugin may be an easier way to do that depending on your Java skills. My mc2xml EPG plugin provides scripting abilities to fill in custom data (but the scripting capabilities require the licensed version of the plugin). Really, there is no magic bullet to custom EPG data - you either write your own plugin for it or use an existing one (xmltv, etc.).

but if i do go through all the "trouble" of implementing xmltv and getting it to work, i can change the xml info to be what i want in the guide data - so that i can have a specific channel have a specific show for a specific amount of time -- what I am ultimately trying to do is record off the composite input port of a Hauppage card and that input is a radio source. And the reason I have to do all that is because windows 7 won't allow me to record from the line input jack (using a different recording app). I am starting to think it would just be easier to roll this machine back to windows xp and regain that functionality.

Sure... if you use xmltv then you just have to generate the proper xml file. Same with my plugin, except you don't have to generate xml, you just have to write a script that generates the channels, lineup(s) and airing data as you wish. Regardless of the method, there is some work to make this kind of thing happen, but it is certainly possible. Just depends how bad you want it vs. the amount of effort you want to put into it.
