Filter New Movies and Featured Movies

I need to filter the movies being displayed in the "New Movies" and Featured movie sections of my Pheonix menu. Is there a way to do this?

Looking through the standard menu files for the landing zones, it doesn't look like they use sources, but instead rely on functions to pull the content in.

How can I add a filter to these out of the box menu views so that I can prevent items with a specific genre tag?

Thanks.

The best place to start would be to find the view for the new movies and create a second view (in the userdata area) that is to your liking. Once you've created the view, then create a menu fragment that adds your new view to the menu, and then hide the existing New Movies menu.

Currently, there isn't much documentation on this, so much of what I said doesn't make any sense, then the short answer is, no, there is no easy way to do this
