Show not getting metadata

Hi,

Can someone help me with this filename and why it can't be scraped correctly?

The Killing (2011) - S01E01 - Pilot.mkv

It's following Show - SXXEXX - Episode name format as recommended...

is it the year in parenthesis that is messing it up?

thanks

If you're using BMT make sure it thinks it is a TV program and not a movie. Other than that it should get the metadata.

The year is most likely throwing it off... since it will search tvdb for "The Killing (2011)" and get no hits.

Actually searching for The Killing (2011) in thetvdb database does return the series. It's listed both ways.

I'm trying to get it to automatically get the metadata after import. I think it is confusing it with a movie- but shouldn't the S01E01 trigger a tv show search? How do I designate it as a tv show and then try to batch fetch data again?

Go into the Batch Metadata Web interface. Browse for it. Try looking under All Videos if you're not seeing it in TV Shows. Once you find it look at Media Type. Change the dropdown to TV and save it. Now you can search for the metadata. Make sure after clicking the Find Metadata button the Search Type shows TV. If not, change it.

Is there a setting I might have changed that makes BMT assume all my imports are movies rather than TV?

I can't seem to get autometadata for Boss (2011) - Episode Name.mkv either.

Movies import and get metadata fine..

When BMT sees the file pattern "Name (Year)" it assumes that is a Movie. Basially it tries the normal "TV" patterns first (S##E##), and if that fails then it tries the Movie Patterns. So, there isn't a setting, it's just the way BMT processes filenames

Although, I suspect that if you had "Boss (2011) - S01E01 - Episode Name.mkv", then BMT would see that as a TV show and search for "Boss (2011)", exactly, in TVDB. If TVDB doesn't have "Boss (2011)", then it won't get a hit.

That's odd because when I search for Boss (2011) manually telling BMT that it's TV show and to search TVDB, it finds BOSS.

Here's my exact file name: Boss (2011) - S01E01 - Listen.mkv

As above, my other show, "The Killing (2011)" also doesn't work with same naming scheme though The Killing (2011) is in TVDB.

That is interesting... I suspect that BMT is working manually because it doesn't have to "discover" that it's a TV show. If I get some time, I'll try to look at this... but I can't make any promises

Just fyi, this is still an issue.. anything that has (year) after the title and is a TV Show will not match as 'tv'..

ive even manually edited the scraper .xml and cannot get it to match to the tvdb show number the way it should.

Shouldnt the scraper.xml be parsed before anything else so we can head off issues like this with a manual (semi automated) match?

thanks for any way to make it work, as I'm currently stumped with some of my shows that have this format in tvdb..
