SageTV & SageRecorder on a network - problem!

Hi All,

I have my Livingroom HTPC with one pvr-250 and SageTV 2.
On my other computer (networked) I have Avermedia m150 with SageRecorder.
Setup was smooth - SageRecoder works and SageTV 2 on my HTPC sees the M150 card (and was added).

When recording something on the HTPC and changing the channel on it - so now I'll be watching the other computer through the network, SageTV freezes and on the HTPC computer and I get the folowing error message window on the SageRecorder computer:

DirectShow Filter Error (<--title)
There was a problem utilizing the sageTV DirectShow Filters.
Unable to set the file in the dump filter
ErrCode=0x80070015

Any idea???

Thanks,
Oren.

You need to make sure that you are using the same video storage directory on the SageTV server and the SageRecorder. Probably easiest to just create a share on the server and refer to it using a UNC name like \\server\sharename. Make sure the SageRecorder machine has access to write to this directory.

Good Luck!

Unable to set the file in the dump filter

I have 2 PVR 350 cards setup on my PC, I also have 2 instances of SageTV Recorder running. When I try to record channel 4 to Recorder1, and channel 5 to Recorder2 both at the same scheduled time it get and error.

There was a problem utilizing the sageTV DirectShow Filters.
Unable to set the file in the dump filter

I am saving both scheduled recording are to be saved to the same place i.e C:\videos. I have been trying to get this to work for a while, but I still have not been able to record 2 channels simultaneously.

please help.. thanks

I don't know if dual 350s could be a problem (perhaps look into the latest drivers?), but are you sure both recorder instances are talking to a separate 350? i.e: they aren't both trying to use the same one, are they?

I even get the error when I try to record to only one PVR 350 card using Sage TV Recorder. This only seems to happen when its a scheduled recording? I just got the PVR 350 cards, so I believe I have the newest drivers. Do you think I should uninstall and reinstalled the software? What I am tryin to do should be fairly easy, but this SAge software is very difficult to work with.

Unless you are doing this on a network, you shouldn't need SageTVRecorder to use 2 tuners, since SageTV can do that itself. The thing I don't know much about is using two 350s in one machine -- you'll have to wait for someone with experience doing that. But, I would would at least try to get just 1 installed & working with the Hauppauge software, then SageTV, before trying to intall & configure the 2nd.
