Can I run SAGE without PVR-card?

IS there a way to run the sage program WITHOUT a PVR-card?

I would like to install it at work, to "PRACTICE" and learn functions and menu's , even to write the manual I keep asking for.

I fust want to be able to access the EPG, download the info and set up recordings so they show up on the screen as scheduled, conflicts etc.. I don't need to SEE a picture or if it records STATIC I don't care.

Can this be done for TESTING purposes?

Yes you can run Sage w/o a tuner, I think you just hit escape when it pops up the Setup wizard (or maybe Home).

However, you won't be able to set up an EPG because there will be no sources to configure.

Doubt you'd be able to "practice" setting up recordings etc. either since nowhere for Sage to record to...

You can do it but you can only do playback through imported video, and you can use the music jukebox. You can mess around with the settings, but their is no data in any of the other menus, so it makes experimentation limited. I do it to try video codecs etc before I screw up my main PVR box.
