Looking for HD300

Looks like the NIC in my HD300 died, and I foolishly didn't get the wifi-enabled model.

Anyone have a HD300 for sale?

Didn't know there was a specific HD300 WiFi-enabled model, unless you did mean firmware version with WiFi support which you can still upgrade to via USB stick.

Oh, I misunderstood some of the posts. I thought the wifi adapter was internal to one of the models. So I guess my options are:

1) Buy a used HD300 for around $350
2) Hunt down the USB wifi adapter for around $50 and hope it's as stable as my wired connection
3) Buy a mini PC for around $350 and futz with drivers like it's 2005 again

What would be really awesome is a compatible USB Gigabit wired network adapter...

The HD200/HD300 are very sensitive to WiFi adapters so I would personally go for a Fast Ethernet USB2.0 Adapter like the D-Link DUB-E100 (very cheap) which I happen to have. If you want I can test it for you and see whether it works on the HD300, let me know.

I'll sell you my HD 300 for $250. I only bought one before sagetv stopped selling them. Now I'm moving to Windows Media Center

Or option 4, use something like this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...3&Tpk=WNCE2001

I've got a couple, it works fine with the HD300, because to the HD300 it looks just like a wired connection. I've seen them as low as $30, if you watch for a deal. Of course, if you are planning to use wireless, the stronger the signal the better...

Is that going to work plugged into the USB port on the HD300? He said his network port on the HD300 is dead. Never used one so asking.

You're right, it won't. Nevermind...

Unfortunately the HD300 hasn't got the "usbnet" driver which is necessary to support the majority of the USB to Network adapter...

You probably have done already, but have you tried the HD300 on another switch/router port? It is not uncommon that ports on switch/routers suddenly stop working as well, it happened to me twice in the past

I would be surprised if it worked.

Happily, my HD300 came back this morning after being unplugged all night long. So hopefully that will get me by until something better comes along.

In the meantime others might be interested in knowing if a wired USB2 adapter works -- up to you.
