Black/blank screen recording in sleep mode

Ok, for the past couple of days, I had sage in sleep mode and it's been doing all my recordings in black. Audio comes out perfectly, but no visual images. If I was to wake sage and go to that recording, the picture will finally come up, but when I rewind, the rest of the show is in black. What the heck is going on here? It killed alot of my shows.

Do you guys believe that having mame open up and closed will affect this?

Yup, I just solved my own problem. I turned off the direct3d and now it records things fine while in sleep mode. Only problem is, if your playing mame, it will record a black/blank screen. Once you stop playing mame, it records fine. I did a test and basically, I have a gap in the timeline of my recording of when I was playing games in mame and when I stopped playing any games in mame.

install directx9b
and update your video card drivers
only use 3d acceleration when using VMR9

Another way to get a black screen recording with full audio: Move your TV encoder card (PVR-250 for me) to a different slot, and don't think about doing the Setup Wizard again.

I missed a couple shows, but found the problem quickly. The slot move was so I could add an Antec Cyclone slot fan between my two PVR-250 cards.

DirectX9b installed already, I have vmr9 on, but not 3d acceleration on. Will this actually make a difference? I probably should go back to default since my board is supposely not supported for vmr9.

I don't think I can move any more slots since I am running a SS50.

Selecting VMR9 and 3D Acceleration disabled forces Sage to use Overlay mode and not VMR9.

try using a different DVD decoder for video sounds like your audio decoder is fine thought and sleep sage after changing it and then rewake it
also set it to overlay since you are using overlay anyways like mlbdude said
