..so if I have followed this thread correctly, you have enabled card sharing as an option with this plugin? I saw mention of a template for card sharing server config, but I don't see it posted anywhere. Are there any other adjustments needed?
And anyone have any luck getting this to work in N.A.?

Your're correct, card sharing is possible and works and an example of it is inside the "SkyUK" zip file in the announcement thread, basically you need a valid subscription provider and the following three things:

Code:
device = <your provider IP address/hostname>,<port>
user = <your username>
password = <your password>
and you're ready to go.

This is what is possible in Europe, unfortunately I've no idea whether card sharing is possible in the USA as every country has its own rules.

Generally speaking this plugin is a direct replacement of a network encoder solution people being using as the only option to have encrypted channels working with SageTV or if you have a valid smartcard (Tivusat/SkyUK) a way to locally share it with multiple tuners natively in SageTV.

Good luck!

Question What next?

Hi folks,

as far as I'm concerned this project is complete, everything appears to working properly, but I was wondering if there anything you would like to be added before I move to something else

I was thinking about implementing the "bitslice (parallel) mode" if there is any concern about CPU utilization, however as nobody reported issues on that matter it is probably not necessary anymore.

Please let me know...

Eddy

I still need to get to the testing stage, at least with DVB-C. Unforturtunately I will now be traveling for a week.

Is it anything I can do for you to help in the meantime? Do you want send me your oscam.server to check?

Does it means that you've got the DVB-T smartcard working now?

No, the DVB-T is not working. I am more hopeful regarding the DVB-C.

The DVB-T is the Viacess, correct? Do you know the required CAID? I'll send you a special version of the filter that will tell which CAID you need that way it might be possible that a right oscam.server is available from OSCAM config generator.

I looked into the OSCAM source looking for the message you had from OSCAM and it looks like a problem with the card reader. There is the possibility that the card reader protocol for the Viaccess card is "phoenix" and not "mouse".

I found this on a forum:

"...I have this smartcard reader (http://www.adteknik.se/swedish/phsmsoft.htm). From Ad-teknik in Sweden. Has a built-in serial connection over USB.

And in Sweden the terrestial broadcast (DVB-T) are from the operator Boxer. Smartcards use Viaccess encryption..."

so for DVB-T it looks like a card reader issue. If you currently have DVBLink + Anysee + OSCAM to watch encrypted channels then my native solution will work providing you have the right card reader or the card reader set in the right mode and I know for sure that the card reader you have can be set in phoenix or smartmouse mode...

troubleshooting strategy

DVBDCC.log, DVBDCCtuner-00.log and DVBDCCtuner-01.log are created but SageTV is not connecting to OSCAM (oscam webinterface status / oscam webinterface users). DVBDCC.log, DVBDCCtuner-00.log and DVBDCCtuner-01.log don't show any indication of activity regarding decryption - what is the best troubleshooting strategy ?

- OSCAM (the version I distribute) must run on the same machine as SageTV.
- Stop OSCAM server.
- Make sure you have created a valid oscam.server file, because when SageTV is starting the DVBDCC.ax filter will produce a valid oscam.user and oscam.conf
- Enable sagetv logs, run sagetv and look in "sagetv_0.log" for messages starting with "DVBDecrypter:"
- Make sure both SageTV.exe and SageTVService.exe (if running in service mode) are on the exception list in your windows firewall.
- If SageTV runs as service, make sure is running with admin privileges.
- You must have valid SageTV .FRQ files, one for each tuner (not the one generated by DVBLogic).
- I'm expecting to see in the DVBDCC-Tuner-xx.log the tuner identity and channel SID being present, if not then the filter is not correctly connected with the plugin and will run in pass-through mode even for clear channels.

BTW if you're already using a network encoding solution to watch encrypted channels, you must uninstall it first.

This should get you starting

The issue is your .FRQ file that is not correct, not a SageTV generated one (DVBLogic?), please post your .FRQ files here

Were you tuning "ORF 1 HD" on Astra 1@19.2ºE ?

Yes - im tuning "ORF 1 HD" on Astra 1@19.2ºE

Autoscan is generating a lot of stations I'm not interested in. So I created a scan file (.scn) manualy and scanning for available channels in SageTV is generating the .frq file. Adding new stations is done the same way - editing the .scn file and scanning for available channels in SageTV to generate the .frq file.

The attached .frq file is working very well - at least for all unencrypted channels.

This is really weird, the attached files looks OK (well a part from the "ctrl:" part that should be 1 for clear and 3 for encrypted), however that is not the file I'm reading. Can you please do me a favour? Look for every message from the beginning of the sagetv_0.log" that have the "DVBDecrypter:" keyword since SageTV is started your should be able to see a message like this:

[<name of your tuner as setup in SageTV>] [<name of the relative FRQ file>]

BTW I didn't know about this SageTV feature (scan->frq). Maybe in the future you might consider the "DVB-S Importer" it will make your life a lot easier by keeping your FRQ files up to date.

Last thing, of course you have the same file for the other tuner, right?

Eddy

The messages you are asking for must be these:
Code:
Mo 9/23 20:25:44.852 [SageTV@12149c5] DVBDecrypter: Valid [Digital Devices Digital Video Capture 1 Digitaler TV Tuner] -> [Digital Devices Digital Video Capture 1-0-DVB-S.FRQ] tuner
Mo 9/23 20:25:44.857 [SageTV@12149c5] DVBDecrypter: Valid [Digital Devices Digital Video Capture 2 Digitaler TV Tuner] -> [Digital Devices Digital Video Capture 2-0-DVB-S.FRQ] tuner
In addition to my last posting - i will attache the .frq and scn files of my second tuner, should be the same.

By the way: The number mentioned in the java exception is the physical channel number, which is only show in SageTV for recently added channels (see attached screenshoots).

That's the problem! I need to investigate what Sage is returning as physical channel in that condition and how to overcome it.

Can you please edit those two channels by setting both the logical and physical channel the channel number only (.i.e: 63/63 and 64/64)?

Can you please try to tune to another channel and look inside the "DVBDCC-Tuner-xx.log"? I expect tuner identity and SID set.

Next step is to make sure your OSCAM server is up and running and your smartcard entitlements being read correctly by OSCAM. If so you can try tune to an encrypted channel your smartcard supports.

Support extended physical channel form

Looking at wubdich issue I realized that I completely forgot the reason of such extended physical channel form of [NID-TID-SID-CH] which is used by SageTV to download the EPG directly from the transport stream.

Of course such EPG is very limited in the time domain, but some users might want to take advantage of that information, therefore I released a plugin update (v1.0.8) that supports the physical channel extended form.

Cheers
Eddy

Excellent, the plugin and the filter are now connected and the filter is ready to decrypt!

Now, do you have a working OSCAM configuration ? By working I mean a card reader + smartcard + oscam.server that allows the OSCAM server to recognise and read the entitlements off the smartcard?

Success

Success

Just thought I would post on here that I have this Plugin working with Sky UK.

It has been successfully running since Sunday morning and only had one issue. (This was down to OSCAM).

It’s still early days but I have uninstalled DVBLogic (Finally) on my main SageTV Server and have been using it ever since.

Would just like to thank Routerunner (Eddy) for all his help over the last few weeks trouble shooting my issues

Dean
