Did you have any issue with OSCAM under windows? Saying that it gets updated quite frequently, so it might be possible that some instability issue have been addressed already.

At the moment OSCAM must be installed in the same machine as the SageTV server, main reason is because the necessary files for OSCAM are autogenerated, but in the future I might look into the possibility to FTP the files over to a Linux server so the two can be decoupled, but in the first phase I'm looking for total semplicity and reliability.

Generally speaking I found the Infinity products very good and not expensive. I recommend THIS card reader which support Smartreader+ functionality that allows OSCAM to dynamically change the clock speed.

Yes, I bought my "unlimited" directly from them last year, quite convenient I must say, otherwise it would cost me more than double from any UK shop and because the box is very small the delivery cost is only 3£

One quick question about OSCAM does it support Card Server connection instead of a card reader because that's what i use here since we are a couple of guy sharing our sattellite subscription between us ?

Yes, but this plugin will not allow illegal card sharing and therefore such possibility will be disabled, I hope you understand, sorry.

So i started testing with OSCAM and for what i see the plugin don't connect at all to oscam this it what i get into the log:

The file is OK, can you please confirm that the OSCAM distribution is in "...\SageTV\SageTV\CAM" along with the oscam.server? Can you please confirm that in the OSCAM distribution directory "oscam.conf" in present? Did you run SageTV server before running OSCAM?

Add/modify the following entry in the Windows registry:

Windows 32bit

\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Frey Technologies\Common\AdditionalCaptureSetups\PluginFilter\PrePlugin="DVBDCC Transform Filter (SageTV)"

I suspect your card needs an "rsakey" to activate properly. Sorry, can't help on that side of things, I did a couple of configuration, but for the zillions of cards out there you have to do a little bit of research yourself

I am just not clear on how to add the rest of the entry?

Which version of Windows 7 you're running? 32 or 64 bits?

I've made two files in attachment HERE that you can use to automatically add the key to the registry.
