Weird weather on Weather Underground

It seems when I choose weather underground I'm getting a lot of "Hail" reported and when I look at the details it's actually thunderstorms. Kind of odd but I wondered if others are seeing this too. Yahoo and world weather seem to be fine. Is there a mapping that happens that I can adjust so that it displays correctly? I p refer Weather Underground because the temperature is more accurate than World Weather and includes a forecast that goes much longer than yahoo.

I didn't really pay attention to it, but, now that you mention it, I've been seeing this, too. I just kept writing it off and didn't realize how many times it had happened. With all the rain we've had recently, you made me realize how much I've been seeing hail listed instead of rain/thunderstorms. Interesting.

ohh...this post helps.

I had my wife worried we were going to get a freak hail storm last night. With some hot weather, I figured it could be a crash cold front or something.

Ha, I even made extra sure to get the cars in the garage.

I guess I'll switch providers in Gemstone.

Can someone that is seeing this switch to the default UI and let me know if you see the same results in the Sage "Google" weather (which is really wunderground and the API I am using too). This will help to see if the base API is providing the wrong code or if I am interpreting it wrong.

Thanks

With Gemstone.xml, I see Hail for today and tomorrow. With SageTV7.xml, I see Thunderstorm for today and Chance of Thunderstorm for tomorrow.

Thanks....that means its my mappings.... I will check out the code when I find time and correct this.

If someone opens an issue on the gemstone code site it will help to ensure I don't forget.

Thanks! Issue #131 added. You might want to add the location of the code site to the FAQ or your signature, since it took me a minute or two to find it buried 3/4 of the way through the release sticky for Gemstone 1.0201. Just a thought.

My pleasure. I don't know if the FAQ request for pictures along with reported issues was mentioned specifically because I didn't include any, but I went ahead and added two. It's truly the least I could do!

This has been fixed and will be available to you when the next phoenix core update is released (as the weather code is all in the phoenix core package and called from Gemstone).
