Narrow link

What would happen if a mapped drive is used for recording but the link to the machine is slower than the data rate that the item is being recorded at? Eg, 5.5mbps wireless link and 3gb/hour recording quality (equates to 7mbps) ?

Thanks

I don't know the exact details about whether you will get an error message about saving the file or whether it will silently go on with the work, but you won't get a good recording, nor will you be able to play it back over the network properly if it can't keep up with the required data rate.... sort of like a dirt road that has been paved with the paving machine continuing w/no pavement to lay while the trucks go get more: the resultant ride will be a bit bumpy.
