SlimPlayer in Gemstone

I see slimplayer listed as a known working plugin, but after installing it I can't find it within the Gemstone UI. Do I have to add it in manually somehow or is it just in a different place than 'Music' ?

You might need to add it using the Menu Manager.

I use Slimplayer within Gemstone all the time.... and Yes you have to add it via the menu manager. It's been awhile since I did it... but I don't remember it being too difficult.

Best to go into the menu's 'copy mode' which will switch you back to the 'default' menu, and allow you to copy the entry the slimplayer plugin adds to the gemstone menu.

Thanks. That's working.

Thanks - that's working now, but I can't seem to get Pandora to work through it. Searching Logitech's forums, there's some reference to an activation code, but I can't seem to find anything for that short of getting a squeezebox.
Any suggestions?

Haven't set up the squeeze server in quite some time, but I don't remember any 'code' or anything to get pandora working. I do know it works on my system just fine (though, for me at least, Pandora has never handled synchronized devices well. For some reason they drift out of sync playing pandora, and that doesn't seem to happen with other sources (Spotify is what I primarily use).

@Fuzzy - are you able to get the artist pics/news/bio information on your installation? I have installed on Gemstone and stock V7 UI. The music plays fine (I have 8 zones working through LMS, so feel confident music server setup is good). Unfortunately I don't get any of the Artist info. I believe this uses the WebHarvest scraper against Yahoo to get the info. I can try the WebHarvest scraper locally by downloading/running the IDE on the JAR provided by Chris. Seems unable to parse, but the logic is way above my head. Just wanted to see if someone else had it working before abandoning. Thanks.

I don't use the slimplayer plugin. I simply launch softsqueeze when i want to listen in my living room, and control with my phone. I've never liked the slimplayer plugin's cloning of the old squeezebox controls, as I never found them to be usable at all.

Thanks for reply. I'm a big fan of iPeng and use it for most everything (even a hidden SB zone driving a vintage 1959 tube console). I was wanting to use this as a "Now Playing" display for an outside TV. Might be a good exercise for my Chromecast.
