It won't stop recording the same episode of Extreme Dodgeball!

I've only had sage for about a week and I seem to have run into my first problem. I set up a bunch of favorites. All of them seem to work properly except for my favorite of Extreme Dodgeball. The thing won't stop recording the same episode over and over. In the past week, the same episode has been aired (re-runs) about 6 times at least. Sage has recorded it every single time. I watch it, make sure the watched flag is set, then delete it. It just goes and records it again. I've checked and the show-ids are the same. At one point the same episode aired twice during the night, at midnight and 3am. Sage recorded both of them, so I could see both recordings sitting in the recorded programs list, and both had the same Show ID. I just marked another one as watched and deleted it, then looked at the shows scheduled to record in the future, and sure enough, this same episode is scheduled to record again in a couple days.

Why does it keep recording the same show? None of the other favorites seem to have this problem.

Do a search on the FAQ about Show IDs, the short answer is all episodes of EDB have the same SHxxxx Show ID so Sage can't tell tell them appart, so it records them all.

Thanks for the quick reply. Well that stinks. I wouldn't mind so much if it wasn't replayed a zillion times every week. Guess I'll just remove the favorite and manually look for it each week.

Well, one option would be to take a look at mlbdude's STV. It has the ability to limit favorites to recording during a specific timeslot. For example if the new EDB is alwasy on at 5:00, you could set up the favorite to only record episodes that are on then.

Well that's sure to kill any interest in the show, so it won't be an issue much longer. I just don't like Ben Stiller's films. However I would pay to see golfballs with spikes thrown at him.

Seriously, MlbDude's STV should solve your problem.

Umm... not if that problem involves golf balls with spikes...

From a commercial I think it looked like they used real rubber balls (ala Randy Johnson in that deodorant commercial )

I guess that's extreme compared to the foam balls we had to use in school (of course at least they let us play dodgeball in school).

What kind of wimpy school did you go to. In my school they were real rubber balls. I remember being bruised for over a week one time. Still as a kid(6-12th grade), it was great fun.

PS:I'm 33 in case anyone was wondering about my kid statement.

We always used those basketball-like things that were never completely inflated. I don't think those ever bruised anyone... unless it was their ego.

Well we did figure out that you could squish the air out of them (they were rubber/plastic coated) and they'd actually go strait then. We might have used rubber ball in elementary school, but of course then, no one was able to effectively weild the more powerfull ammunition.

When I was a kid we use to play Extreme Dodgeball using volleyballs in a racketball court with all the lights off and the door ajar just a tiny bit, the room was mostly pitch dark, you had to listen for the other players and throw the ball in that direction, Now that was Extreme Dodgeball

Its actually pretty much identical to the rules we used when I played dodgeball in gym class. There are a couple differences, like with the button to hit to let your whole team back in and the initial rush to get the balls. The show itself is kind of lame, it sounded like it would be a lot more fun to watch than it actually is. Its pretty quick to watch though once you skip past commercials and other fluff - not a whole lot of dodgeball actually being played in the half hour.

Anyways, thanks for the suggestions. I still have to try out that mlbdude thing to see if that will work.
