350's audio and MP3 playback ?

I guessing from what I have seen on the forums that if you are using sageTV's hardware decode feature w/WinTV 350 you lose the audio for MP3 playback from the sageTV ?

I was wondering ... if this setup would work.

Connect my DirecTV sat box audio RCA to the line in on my SoundBlaster Audigy 2 Sound card. Take the line out from the SB A2 to the audio in of the PVR 350 and then run the Audio out from the PVR 350 to the Sony Reciever. Will this then let me hear my MP3 playback even when hardware only decoding is enabled in my settings.

Right now I have the Hardware decoding enabled and have no sound that comes from the Audio of the PVR 350 when MP3 playback is used. No problems with audio when viewing recorded or live TV from the Sat box.

This would be tough because you'd essentially be re-encoding the MP3's to MPG2 audio and playing back with a delay.

There's a simpler way to accomplish what you really want to do. Hookup your DirectTV audio outs to the audio in on the 350 as normal. Then take the audio out of the 350 and go IN to the line in on your Sound Blaster. The go out of your sound blaster to your receiver.

This way you're not re-encoding (which would require you to tune into your MP3's), and all the audio comes from one source. This will also enable you to have windows sounds.

Update:

This setup worked perfectly ... no delay in audio.

RCA out from Sat box to PVR350. PVR350 Audio Out to Sound Blaster Audigy 2 input. SBA2 outpout front speakers to Sony Reciever.

Thanks for the help
