New NF7-S build, Sage won't start

I just put together a new HTPC
Abit NF7-S V2.0
Athlon XP-M 2500+ running at 166 FSB x 11
512 Kingston PC2700
Geforce2 MX400 32mb
WinTV-PVR 250

I updated every driver, bios, and windows update to the absolute latest version.

Then I installed sage and JRE and got no errors.

THen I double-clicked the sage.exe icon, and the hour-glass popped up for a second, then dissappeared and nothing happened. I checked the running processes to see if Sage was working in the background and it wasn't.

Any ideas?

The only advice I can give you is the general kind. R&R (remove and reinstall) java and sage. I've had the application take a dump on me before, but the process usually stays running.

Have you tried anything else with the system? Such as a burn-in period with prime95? Make sure your system is 'truely' stable; esp since you are OC'ing even though most AXP-mobile procs can take it.

Ok, I fixed it, i'm dumb. I was manually installing J2RE 1.4 before I installed Sage. I removed everything, then I just let the sage installer handle everything and put on the J2RE itself. Then it worked. Oh well, chalk one up to right software, wrong order.

I installed J2RE first, then sage, and it worked okay for me.
