DVD Playback at different resolution?
Hi,
I just got my sagetv bundle with a 250MCE and all is working quite well! First, i just want to say how easy it was to setup and that everything just worked (well, ok, it took me a minute or two to figure out why i wasn't getting sound). I've been using TiVo for the past few years and a dedicated HTPC for DVD/Music. Now i have combined the functionality into one box and am moving the TiVo out of my rack. There's one big issue for me though... I really like using TheaterTek for DVD playback. I have it setup to set my screen resolution to either 720x480p for 4:3 movies or 1920x1080i for 16:9 movies (the majority of what i watch). However, i don't want my HTPC running at 1920x1080i as it's impossible to read any text on the screen and sage is REALLY slow at that resolution, but it looks awesome for video. Is there any way to tell Sage to switch resolution when playing a DVD, then to switch back (similar to the command line switches for TT?) Or is there a way to hook the menu for DVD playback to just sleep sage, then run TT, then after running TT, come back to sage? If i had a way to send girder events out of sage, that could do it, i just need to know how to hook them into the menu system. Thanks in advance! Now comes the tweaking!!! Jeff |

Go check out the Mlbdude and Mlbdude2 STV's in the Customization forums. Both include the ability to use an external DVD player (I use TT myself).

for the resolution switching you can also use powerstrip for when you use sage and for when you use TT but sounds like your problem has been solved anyway
(and you probably already knew that) |
