Unhappy Jerky playback and unsharp video in LiveTV for Roslyn card

I have the multi-tuner blackbird bundle and I'm having a problem with the video being jerky in liveTV and recorded playback.

Also the video quality is low.

What might be the problem?

System:
ECS Motherboard
1.2 GHz AMD Duron
256 MB SDRAM
60 GB IBM HD
120 GB Western Digital HD
128 MB GeForce 5200 video card
2 blackbird roslyn pvr cards
I'm using the Elecard MPEG-2

You might try setting the SageTV priority to above normal. It solved my problem with studdering type behaviour.

I'd give that a shot. I have about 512mb of ram usage per instance so that may be a issue too?

ECS board use a VIA chipset? If so, make sure you are using the latest chipset drivers (VIA 4in1).
