Unhappy HELP! Output to a TV Set

OK.....

I've got the software running great. A tuner, I can watch programs all over the house on my PC, etc.

However, when I hook up the video out of my ATI 9500 card to a TV set, it looks like the fields are backwards.

I have to imagine the outputs here should look better than that.

Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

FYI.... ATI Radeon 9500 card. Using S-Video Out. I've also tried on my laptop and it's video out is messed up, too. I've tried different resolutions, etc to no avail.

Is this a problem with the encoding or decoding? It almost looks like it was de-interlaced and then re-interlaced in the wrong field order.

Also, I was using VMR9 and everything was fine. I tried switching to Overlay mode and everything EXCEPT the actual video comes out on the TV. Litterally, the transparent info screen shows up, but not the actual TV program.

So I guess what I'm asking is..... is there a formula to set settings to if I'm only ever going to use this on a TV set and never watch it on a PC?

Thanks!

Stacy
