HD 300 Ghosting

Hi all,
I been running Sage for a few years now using a HD200 and some old MVP's as extenders. I finally took the plunge and bought a HD300 from an Ebay seller. I plugged it in last night and I'm getting lots of ghosting. I've done a search and I can't find anything that indicates this is a common issue. I kept everything the same and swapped back to my HD200 which had no ghosting at all. The HD300 has ghosting at all times e.g. menu's, video, photo's etc. Does anyone have any thoughts about how I might be able to fix this?
Best regards
Ron

Ghosting is typical of analogue signal only, but can you please specify which video output are you currently using (HDMI/Component/Composite)? Also please be aware that the HD300 has a lower power level on the HDMI output compared to the HD200 and therefore the recommended maximum HDMI cable length is about 5ft, however a longer cable shouldn't create ghosting per say, but more a working/not working scenario if you see what I mean.

Also, if you bought the HD300 from the US you might want to set the video standard to PAL if you haven't done so yet

Thanks for the reply. It's HDMI and the cable is only about 5 feet in length. I bought it second hand from someone in the UK but I will double check the PAL setting. The HDMI cable and TV input are exactly the same as what I was using for the HD200 which has no ghosting in menu's or when playing / showing the same content.

I will try some more scenarios when I get a chance such as different TV, different cable, different input. But I've got a pretty good baseline because I've literally swapped it backwards and forwards in situ with the HD200.

I did some additional testing last night and it looks like it was the HDMI cable. I've swapped to a different cable and it's OK now. Strange how the HD200 worked fine.

Glad you found the issue. Not surprised about the difference, the HD200 has a very different HDMI transmitter compared to the HD300 and apparently not so good...
