Yes, PlayOn, being a pay for program, adapts to service changes pretty quick. Only current issue with it and SageTV is that it won't stream in HD to SageTV (yet). It needs to recognize the client that is connecting to it before it will stream in HD to it, and Sage doesn't properly identify itself. Open Source that should get fixed pretty easily. PlayLater (an addon to PlayOn that will record to a mp4 file) will still record in HD, and sage can play that back.

But on the PC (web player) those services don't require HDCP/Protected Path though correct? CableCard is different, you need a protected path and HDCP output for protected content.

You guys are making it too difficult I was referring to merely launching it as an external program and minimize sagetv. Much like I do in kodi with third party players. Not ideal but if it gave access to DRM content from a sage interface more than usable.

Sure.. you can always do that... but integrating it closer is MUCH better. :-)
