How many channels do you get?

Hello,

I now have the USB IR working, very cool.

I am not grabbing as many channels as I would like, how many are most people getting please?

Is there a way other than working through the Radio Times list to work out which ones are available?

Thanks

Simon.

I've got about 40 main channels and RT is able to provide listings for most of them, I think there are 2 that I've not found listings for:

Fox Kids
CBBC

Other than that the only problem that I seem to be having trouble with is E4, for some reason the listings are very unreliable on the RT website.

I have the same problem with E4, but not E4+1.

Time to add some more channels me thinks.

Go to http://www.radiotimes.com
Click on My Channels
Either register as yourself, or enter noone@mailinator.com as the email address...
Click on My Channels again
Full channel list appears, and there is a link to the radio station list too...

I have seen on the other post how to remove wrong names (remove third entry in the channel.id file), but am not too sure as to how I got so many for the same channel!

Does registering with RT benefit XMLTV?

I thought it gave access to more data than not being registered.

But that would then mean that you had to be logged into the site before grabbing.

No, the grabber already sees the same as registered users-- it logs in with a random registered user ID just to get the channels available to registered users.

The grabber has no idea whether the user running it is registered or not, and cannot get access to a registered user's personal channel list.

So, do you think that the RT site not giving the correct results for any search prior to 6am is by design?
