MiniClient Navigation on A Tablet?

Just laying on the livingroom couch, running MiniClient on my 10" Samsung Note tablet.

I want to watch a movie.

Movies are organized in directories: one folder for each movie.... 600+ folders/movies.

List of folders comes up a-ok when I tap Videos | Folders.
  • I can flick the folder list until it finally scrolls to show the folder containing the movie I want
    .
  • But when I try to tap on the folder, nothing happens: the line containing the folder name does not take focus.
    .
  • My expectation is that the tap opens up that folder and another tap on the movie within the folder opens the movie.

Am I maybe doing something wrong setup-wise?

Would a BlueTooth keyboard help any?

I can't say for sure what is happening... since to be honest, phone/tablet support is a bonus, not really a design goal.

You can check this list for the touch commands and see you are missing something there.

I have never really run the miniclient, myself, on a phone/tablet, so not sure how functional it is.

Sean.

What UI are you using? I use Gemstone and it doesn't appear to be mouse friendly in that on some screens clicking on items with your mouse has no effect. You have to use a keyboard or remote control and press enter to select a movie, show, etc.

A keyboard would help for sure. Or a remote control, esepecially a BT one, but that seems silly to use with a tab.

jusjoken has this on his list of todos for Gemstone 2.

I have a Dell Win10 (originally Win8) tablet and I occasionally try to use it with Sage but it doesn't always work so well, especially since PS doesn't work so well with 1080i content.
