HDHR OTA in unraid/docker

I am currently running USB tuners in Win10, but switching over to unraid/docker and ditching the USB tuners for an HDHR Quatro for strictly OTA tuning.

What are the requirements for Sage to tune the HDHR in this environment?

Is OpenDCT something I'll need? I've ignored this in the past, but it has several references to HDHR, so is this what is required to tune an HDHR?

Thanks for the help, I've tried searching.

I'm probably not the best person to answer your question; but lately answers on this forum have been slow in coming if they come at all. So, I'll give my $0.02 for what it's worth. I have the HDHR Prime and a headless unRAID server. I believe OpenDCT is the right way to go for the HDHR network-connected devices. And, it couldn't be easier to install via the "crazifuzzy-opendct" docker container. If you have installed the "Community Applications" plugin, it is a very straight-forward process to find and install it.

For OTA, the HDHR is 100% supported by SageTV directly in Linux and Docker provided your HDHR is on the same network as your SageTV is. No other software is required..."it just works"(tm).

A couple things to note:

There are some Linux utilities from Silicon Dust you can install if you like, but are really only needed for troubleshooting the HDHR. They are not used by SageTV.

OpenDCT can be used but is not needed. I understand it provides some additional info about the stream and other minor advantages if it is in place, but I prefer to keep things simple and leave it out of the equation.

Thanks!

I'm thinking about setting up a separate network between the sagetv docker and the HDHR to keep the bandwidth free on my home network. 4 HD streams + 1-2 viewing seems like a bottleneck to me.

I used to do this with my cameras and blue iris, but the USB network card I used wasn't very reliable.

I think I'll try this on the home network, then try to break, I mean, improve it!
