Opening Sage into a specific area

Howdy,

Is there a way to get Sage to open automatically into the Live Guide Screen when the icon is clicked?

Thanks,

Simon.

You can change the desktop shortcut to launch:

"C:\Program Files\Frey Technologies\SageTV\sagetv.exe --event 18"

That should open SageTV directly to the Guide.

Actually, that won't work. It uses 1 dash (-), but more importantly: sending an event that way won't do anything if SageTV isn't already running, so you can't start it that way. Also, if it is running, but sleeping, sending it just the '18' event (for: Guide) won't wake it up either.

So... you at least have to have it running first. Then, to wake it & send it to a specific screeen, you would have to send a series of commands. For a program that will let you do that fairly easily, see my SendMessage utility, found in this post. You could send 2 events in sequence with 1 SendMessage command: 43 (Power ON) & 18 (Guide).
