So I have hardwired HD300s or HD200s at all TVs except my outdoor patio TV (because I don't know how an extender would handle heat and humidity and don't want to risk finding out). I use those for live OTA TV and obviously all my other recordings, ripped discs, music, photos, etc.

On three of those same indoor TVs and also the outdoor TV, I have a FireTV stick (two 4K versions and two 1080p versions). I use the Fire sticks for online streaming content that I want to watch on demand. Three of the four Fire sticks have the voice command button and my kids have figured out how to ask for "HDMI-1" or "HDMI-2" to switch between the Sage extender and the Fire stick. They use the Fire sticks to get to a few various apps (Netflix, Disney Jr, Nick Jr, PBS Kids).

I do have PlayOn running in Sage so I *could* watch the streaming stuff within Sage through that, but it's clunkier than just switching the TV input. I do use it for the "PlayLater" function and record movies, shows, or entire series which I can then watch through Sage conveniently.

The TV on the patio (Fire stick with no voice) requires using the TV remote to manually switch which is probably more than my little kids would bother with (and lazy me)... I don't really see a need to have my Sage recordings out on the patio so I have a cheap rabbit ears antenna hooked up which gets the locals (usually for sports if I have friends over on the patio). If I really wanted to get to something I'd recorded on that patio TV, I could use the Plex app (I run Plex on the same server as Sage and point it at all the Sage directories). I could also use Plex live TV if I wanted (using my HDHRs) but that always runs into the risk of conflicting with an ongoing Sage recording since they don't know to check each other.

It's not perfect but it's working for now.
