Music High CPU again UGH
Recently I started having issues with music playback. The first few songs playing the hanging is minimal. After 4 songs, the hanging duration gets longer.
Playing any type of MP3 or FLAC file causes hanging of Sage. Scrolling through folders during playback results in spinning circle. At end of each song playback stops (no progress on time bar). After a while the next queued song plays. Checking CPU usage on a 6 core 12 thread Ryzen 1600 shows CPU 3 is maxed out at 100%. Total cpu usage for all cores/threads is around 8 to 9%. System shows over 50% of the 16GB memory is free. Using stock STV. Last night I put 20 songs on the playlist and let it run. 9 hours later it had only gone though about half the songs with long hangs between songs. Last time I had this issue I had to wipe and completely reinstall windows and Sage. Uninstalling and reinstalling Sage did not fix the issue. No hardware changes, no newly installed software other than windows updates. . Just started happening. Logs show D3D freeing texture memory multiple times. I increased the VRAM max from 150000 to 300000 then 450000 without any resolution. Dont want to have to wipe and rebuild the computer. Ryzen 1600. 16GB corsair memory. Geforce GTX1060. Windows 10 pro 64bit. SageTV 9.2.1.826 JVM heap size 338used /445max /1432total Running as service OS on 256gb NVME drive. All media files on 9TB raid 5 array. Restored my PC back to Windows 8.1 and no further problems.
Something in Win 10 seems to be breaking Sage music playback for me. This has happened on 2 different PC's for me. My current Ryzen CPU system and an older core I5 system. |

I'll play thread necromancer and revive this!
I'm noticing similar issues (have for years) and it's finally annoying me enough to want to look into it. Anyone have any suggestions on how to get rock solid music playback through the Sage TV 64 bit Windows PC client? There aren't any settings in the decoder options specifically for music or MP3 files, but maybe there's some tricks in the config file? |
