Priorities not really working.

Here's my problem and I will give specific details with show names (I hope there isn't a problem with that)

I have Big Brother 5 set as my top priority, and then I have America's funniest home videos setup somewhere underneath that.

Now what happens is, Big Brother 5 comes on at 7:00pm and 10:00pm. And America's Funniest Home Video's comes on at 7:00pm.

Because there is a conflict (which I believe is a conflict anyway at 7:00pm), it should take my top priority and record that, IE Big Brother 5. However it doesnt. I am guessing the reason why it doesn't is because it finds that BB5 is on at 10:00 so it records America's Funniest Home Video's at 7:00 and BB5 at 10. Is there any way I can tell it to only use my priority list?

Thanks

I doubt if SageTV considers that a conflict, since it can record both shows.
If the BB5 is on two different channels, then you would probably get what you want by telling it to only record from the 7 PM channel.
You could also force a manual recording of the 7 PM recording.

What is wrong with the 10PM version of the show?

Yeah its 2 different channels. How do I tell it to only record on the 7:00 pm channel.

Nothing is wrong with the 10:00 episode however I usually watch the 7:00 episode at 10:00 (not live) and that way I can skip commercials.

Thanks

I am not using SageTV 2.0 yet. I believe it is an option when you setup a favorite. I believe the RC3 fixed Favorite with Channel - maybe discusses the ability.

Right -- select a favorite to see its Favorite Details screen & you will see a "Channel:" option, where you can select "Any" or a particular channel to limit that favorite to. In addition, if you use the MlbDude2 STV (or MalDude, which includes those modifications), there is a timeslot option to limit a favorite to record only those shows that fall within the specified hour.
