Firestick 4k- no video from Colossus 2?

Getting sound only, what combination of setup options do I need for the Firestick to be able to show video that originates from a pcie Colossus 2 usng HDMI? Does the mini client need IJK or EXO? Codecs? Does the colossus need to be outputtng differently? Been a long time since i set up a new piece of hardware!

Changed to software decoders and IJK, now have video but its slighty choppy and seems to drop frames. Is there a specific decoder I should use? I thought the firestick had hardware decoding?

In my 13 years with sagetv i have never understood codecs so there very well may be obvious answers, but searches aren't turning anything up

First, be sure to use the newer "forked" version of the SageTV Mini Client - it's actually called "SageTV Android Client" now in the Amazon store.

Check out this thread for more information: https://forums.sagetv.com/forums/showthread.php?t=66405

Second, are you using OpenDTC to record the stream? If not (probably using SageDTC instead), switching to OpenDTC might make it work out of the box. OpenDTC seems to write data to the containers correctly when other apps don't. This makes a difference when trying to play back material using the "mini client" devices.

Has your firmware upgraded to 6.2.7.3 yet? There were major issues with h264 1080i on the FTV 4K before this current release.
