no it is always a good idea to use the newest decoders
they many times have performance upgrades and feature upgrades

just choose the intervideo decoder and that should be the winDVD 6 decoder

I would uninstall winDVD 4 before installing version 6

Thanks .... Will go for it and install V.6 ...

So if I uninstall v.4 install V.6, I then select "Intervideo NonCSS Video Decoder for Hauppauge" for the MPEG2 Video Decoder Filter and "Intervideo NonCSS Audio Decoder for Hauppauge" for the MPEG2 Audio Decoder Filter ... Correct?

If you've got it, go for it.

And no, you'll want to select Intervideo Video Decoder (the NonCSS is the hauppauge version), and the same for audio.

yeah you need to choose intervideo (not noncss intervideo)

the audio will have more features for the noncss version

I have a PVR350 and I am using the Intervideo Video Decoder and the Intervideo Audio Decoder. This is the only setup that seems to not give me copy protection (cant play disc) errors, and also does not give me subtitle errors. The only problem I'm having with this option is that my system keeps locking up randomly while playing dvds. Is there a specific driver I am supposed to be using? Is there a specific decoder install I need to have? I have played with Sage's settings off an on and finally everything else is working ok, except for this one problem. I am using VRM9 btw if that matters, but I was using that before too. I'm new at this so bear with me.
